Andrej Pejic

He's the male model of the moment, starring in the latest Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign and being shot by Steven Meisel and Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for French and Italian Vogues.
But 19-year old Andrej Pejic is not your usual male model as you can see from these pictures showing his two starring turns on the catwalk this past week for Jean Paul Gaultier.
The gorgeous blonde Veronica Lake ringer in gold and furs at Gaultier's menswear show? Pejic. The beautiful hourglass bride at the finale of Gaultier's haute couture show in Paris, resplendent in ruffled tulle and feather headdress? Pejic again.
And Gaultier's spring 2011 campaign stars Pejic too, this time smooching with model Karolina Kurkova in matching pleated trench coats and fishnet tights.
Models.com ranks Bosnia - Herzegovina born Pejic as the 16th most influential male model of the moment, but the way things are going with his career, he's stealing a march on the girls too.

Video with pics of Pejic:

Andrej Pejic is a 19-year-old model with a slender figure, flowing blonde hair and a face that boasts full, pillow lips and high cheekbones. Pejic has Cindy Crawford’s bone structure and Kate Moss’ body. You are probably thinking Pejic must be a pretty young female.

Pejic is actually an Australian male with Serbian roots. The androgynous model has blurred fashion's boundaries again, appearing on the catwalk in Paris in a haute couture bridal gown.

The 19-year-old from Melbourne created a sensation when he closed the Jean-Paul Gaultier womens wear show dressed as a bride, complete with a mohawk, black veil and long black gloves, reported the Herald Sun.

The gender-bending turn, in front of guests including French Vogue boss Emmanuelle Alt and actor Catherine Deneuve, came after Pejic closed Gaultier's menswear show last week dressed as a woman.

Pejic, who has been dubbed "James Blond", is also the face of Gaultier's new advertising campaign and appears in the latest Marc Jacobs campaign.

His look has made him one of the fashion scene's most popular new stars, according to Matthew Anderson, director of Pejic's Australian agency, Chadwick Models.

"The success and embracement of Andrej in the fashion world has been phenomenal," Anderson said. "No one is pretending that this is the new norm, but what Andrej is doing is providing a canvas for designers who have always pushed boundaries.

"I have about 60 requests in my inbox from around the world wanting a piece of Andrej."

Pejic was born in Bosnia "two months before the war started" and moved with family to Australia when he was nine.
